The Centurion Intercessor

Luke 7

7 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

The Centurion had great faith he stood in the gap for his servant. He was a man in position of authority and knew how to use it. He even had the boldness to go directly to Yeshua/Jesus to ask him to heal his servant even tho he never met him face to face. It’s what we call standing in gap. There was no way the ill servant could go to Yeshua so his master the one who had lordship over him sent word in his place. The Centurions confidence was in the the power of God and in who he knew he was to direct that power in the right direction. He had faith in healing and knew accoding to the word it only had to be sent.

Psalm 107:20

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

All the Lord had to do was send the word. Basically he saw there was faith hope and a will. The faith came from relationship. The Centurion had to know who Yeshua was to know he had the power to heal. He also had favor as he had sown into the kingdom of God by building synagogues. The elder Jews went to te Lord for him. As the Lord had come towards the Centurion’s home he had friends meet him outside saying he’s not worthy for him to even enter his home just send the word we will receive it in our home. The Lord did and marveked at his faith. https://youtu.be/HGWzo5EdQ0w
